Yales has been family owned and operated for over 70 years. George Orenstein and Yale Orenstein started the business in New London as a body shop. Yales moved out of New London in 1951, and into their current Montville location. Max Orenstein joined George and Yale in the early 1950s. At this point, Yales also introduced the salvage yard. In the mid 1960s, you may have known Yales as the, Three Mad Men, to help distinguish them from Yale Hospital, Yale University, and another salvage yard in New Haven, named Yales.
